Ten Shared Principals
On Monday, July 20, 2020, the McDonough County Sheriff’s Office and other Macomb/McDonough County law enforcement agencies adopted the Ten Shared Principles, in cooperation with the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP). McDonough County is only the third county in Illinois, whereas every law enforcement partner has collectively adopted these pertinent principles. We as an organization shall recognize and follow these principles at all times. The Sheriff’s Office values the life of every person at the highest value and will continue to serve our communities with pride and dignity. Discrimination shall not be tolerated; we vow to tirelessly labor to build trust and transparency through community-oriented policing, fairness, impartiality and will remain supportive of diversity within the Sheriff’s Office.
